The news comes from Videocardz and they got some pics of the new A520 chipset motherboards from ASRock. Looks like they are about to get released sometime this year if not this month.
There are currently two A520 chipset boards from ASRock about which we have some info. One is the A520M Pro4 which is a MATX board while the other one is the A520M-ITX/ac which is an ITX motherboard.
Both of these motherboards will be better than the A320 chipset motherboards in terms of features but as the A-series chipsets are not made for overclocking, you will be better off with a B450 or B550 motherboard except if you don’t care about overclocking.
The A520M-ITX/ac features an 8 power stage VRM with a decent sized heatsink and 2x DIMM slots for dual-channel memory configuration. There are 4x SATA ports on both of these boards but the A520M Pro4 comes with 2x M.2 connectors instead of 1 on the ITX/ac.
There is a single PCI-E x16 slot on the ITX/ac while there are 2x PCI-E x16 on the Pro4. These boards, unfortunately, won’t have PCI-E Gen 4 support which might make most of the PC builders get the B450 chipset motherboard instead.
For internet connectivity, the ITX/ac is equipped with an inbuilt Wifi adapter and comes with 6x USB ports including a Type C and a PS/2 port for peripherals connection. You will get an HDMI and a DP port for display as well.
On the Pro4, you will get 8x USB ports and an additional VGA port for display. According to Videocardz, the A520 chipset motherboards are set to launch this month.
