Biostar just launched a new B450 chipset called the B450NH which is a Mini-ITX form factor motherboard. It’s a weird time to launch a B450 chipset board when we already have so many B550 motherboards which are way better than the B450 boards but let’s see what the new board comes with.
It comes with the CPU support for all the Ryzen processors from 2nd to 3rd generation including the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen APUs as well. The board will support up to 4000MHz of overclocked RAM and Biostar has put out their memory support list on their site which you can check here. It has 2x DIMM slots and you can install up to 64GB of RAM kit on the board.
For overclocking, you will get a basic 4+2 power stage VRM with a tiny heatsink and for storage, there are 4x SATA 6Gb/s ports and 1x M.2 socket for fast SSDs. For internet connectivity, you will get a 1G Realtek LAN but unfortunately, no wifi adapter which is definitely necessary for a mini-ITX board like this.
At the I/O, you will find 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports and a PS/2 port for peripherals. For display, there is a single VGA port and an HDMI port that will support 4K resolution.
Looking at what you can get onboard, the board has 1x CPU fan connector and 1x system fan connector for cooling and no RGB headers at all. A pretty basic board indeed and at a time when there might be no buyer for a board like this.
