Epic Games has released several patches adding new features, deploying fixes in Fortnite since last few weeks. Earlier in the day, new patch V3.6 patch was introduced for Fortnite along with the patch notes on PS4, Xbox, Mobile and PC with server downtime confirmed. Numerous features and bug fixes were launched under the patch while introducing the debut of the latest gameplay item Clinger and Noble Launcher, and bugs with the likes of Builder pro, multiple issues with Supply Drops and Tactical SMG not reloading were fixed in the gameplay.
Self-Service Cosmetic Returns or “Self Refund” feature was added in the patch which allows the players to sell cosmetic items for the digital currency V-bucks. Moreover, only 3 cosmetic items purchased within the past 30 days can be returned for V-bucks, Yes you heard that right, only 3 items for complete Fortnite’s existence. A certain number of eligible items has been defined that can be purchased and sold.
Returnable Items: Emotes, Gliders, Harvesting Tools, Back Bling, Outfits.
Non–Returnable Items: Battle pass, Battle pass Tiers, Starter Pack, Founder’s Pack, Loot Llamas.
In an announcement on twitter Epic Games stated the following on Fortnite’s feed:”Due to an issue discovered with the “Self Refund” feature, we’ll be disabling it until we create a fix and make some usability improvements to the system.”

Though, Epic Games team have not clearly mentioned the root cause of the issue identified since the deployment has been rolled out earlier in the morning. The decision to take down the Self Refund feature was widely discussed over the forum Fortnite subreddit where gamer’s claimed that the feature has been exploited majorly which unintentionally allows the players to refund battle pass tier costing 950 V-bucks(Approximately $9.50). Battle pass included outfits, emotes and other goodies at no extra cost that player can earn, with that, a player almost guaranteed one or more items which they can sell for extra V-bucks and that’s exactly they did.
Epic Games also stated that improvement will be made in the system to enable the feature again. Since the popularity of the feature has been greatly associated with the gamer’s and the concept of it is widely praised.
