The wait is finally over for the Middle East, as Dubai is building its first massive E-sports stadium in order to enter the competitive gaming arena. As this is esports stadium is an attempt which will establish Dubai as a regional and global hub for hosting video gaming events.

This stadium will be solely dedicated venue for all kinds virtual pursuits. It has plans to accommodate huge crowds through its Twitch live stream as well and host world-class video gaming events such as Overwatch League, Call of Duty World League and even Battle.net World Championship Series.
Needless to say, Dubai wants to get in on E-sports. With the industry which is estimated to worth a whopping US$99.6 billion (Dhs365.8 billion) is a clear proof that people certainly enjoy their games.
This project is a joint initiative of Dubai Media Office and TECOM Group which is endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the board of trustees of Dubai Future Foundation under the Dubai 10X initiative. According to them, “Dubai X-Stadium, which will consolidate Dubai’s status as a key digital economy hub.”
Dubai already has a huge fan base for the digital sport, with tournaments previously across the UAE including the Fortnite competition at MEFCC 2018. Now, it’s hoping to attract fan base to about 60 million people with its new stadium by 2020.
According to sources, the prize pool for these Gaming tournaments in the UAE have more than US$10,000 (Dhs36,729). Damn, guess we’re in the wrong job.
