Final Fantasy XV, the much-awaited game of 2018 and the developers will make the use of the famous Denuvo Anti Tampering software to protect against early piracy after its launch on tomorrow. But in spite of so much high-end protection, the has already been cracked even before it is launched as per some threads on Reddit, it’s already been cracked.
But there is catch in it, this one isn’t a conventional crack instead it’s more of a evade. As per the notes published by famous Chinese cracking group 3DM who finally surrendered before the Denuvo Anti Tampering software couple of years ago, in case of this game, it was made possible and actually enabled by the EXE file from the demo, which was not protected by Denuvo. Thus it apparently works in conjunction with the preload files to bust things wide open.
According to 3DM informed that it is the unprotected version of the game is confirmed to work through chapter three, but there are reports from many users in Reddit where they are able to achieve success beyond the said chapter and there are at least a couple of users who reportedly able to get to chapter nine, while others are saying that the new DLC content from chapter 14 is not playable. Here is a link to the post of 3DM from Reddit.
To sum up things for you the reason they were able to crack it before the launch is Origin didn’t put in any kind of restriction or check to make it not work with the released game files and moreover origin also forgot to encrypt their preload, which if they hadn’t forgotten then this would have come out later. And this also the reason why the DLC isn’t working as it wasn’t decrypted in the origin download so they were not able to do it.
So it’s really more of an advantage of the opportunity of a simple oversight instead of an actual crack but the ultimately the result remains the same. It is quite effective but not that it had ended the age of Denuvo. Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition is available on Steam.
