Gaming Builds

My New Gaming Build – I love it.

Hey, Whatsup Gaminerds! as I said in one of my earlier posts I upgraded my personal gaming build. I just need a gaming PC which can max out everything at 1080p and still doesn’t drop below 60. I upgraded it approx. two weeks ago but it took me time to configure everything and test everything properly.

Also, did some smaller updates after buying the main components a few days ago. Now I have almost all the components I needed. Here are some pictures of my new gaming pc:-

What I wanted, What I got?

I am so much fond of not only building gaming PC’s but also to make a colour theme. With this build, I wanted a white/black theme, but as you can see above, I wasn’t able to do that. It’s perhaps 50% of what I wanted and I am still happy with it but my dream of choosing exact colour isn’t fulfilled.

Components I wanted:-

Processor: Intel i5 6600K

CPU cooler: DeepCool Captain 240 White(Bought later)

Motherboard: Asus Z170 A

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3200Mhz DDR4 White Led

Case: NZXT S340 white

What I got:-

Processor: Intel i5 6600K

CPU cooler: DeepCool Captain 240 White

Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

Ram: Gskill Ripjaws V series 16gb 3200Mhz ddr4

Case: Cooler Master 690 III

If I would have got those above components, then my build would have been very much white/black themed. But in the whole market, I couldn’t find them. Not even online. As in countries other than USA/Canada or UK, prices are terrible and some of the items from brands like NZXT are sold overpriced, I didn’t want to buy them for the price they asked for. Asus Z170 A is available only sometimes in the market, the alternative was Asus Z170 pro gaming.

Although the Pro gaming has better features, I didn’t need them. Corsair Vengeance white LED memories look great but when I wasn’t able to find it in Nehru Place which is considered as Asia’s biggest electronics market, although I don’t really feel it’s the truth still it’s huge, I asked in many shops for at least Memories that are covered either in White aluminium heat spreader or having white LED’s.

Surprisingly I didn’t find one and I went with Black coloured Gskill Ripjaws Ram modules which still work much better than any other. But my biggest unfortune was not getting the NZXT S340 white. Damn! that’s the most beautiful mid tower case ever produced. Money wasn’t a problem, but when I saw that instead of selling it for a price of equal to $100 here, Amazon.in was selling it for $250. WOW! that’s too much, and the market didn’t have one.

I am not sure what is up to the dealers and why only NZXT products are being sold so expensive, I asked for a white similar mid tower case. And I got Cooler Master 690III as the best for my money. I got it for $123, Although it’s quite old n t it’s very big and has many good features.

Some of the things I didn’t want in my case were: –

  1. I didn’t want a case that has hard drive cages at the front as a lot of cases have.
  2. I didn’t want the window panel showing power supply

But I decided to compromise. Other than these the only con this case has is the small motherboard cutout which was not allowing me to install the liquid cpu cooler properly when the motherboard was already installed in the case with all other components connected to it. But I figured out a way and didn’t used the small rubber stoppers for screws.

How it performed?

If you haven’t seen my benchmarks with the older rig using Gtx 1060, then check it in my post “i3 2120 with gtx 1060 performance“. So here are the components I used:-

What I need now?

I just need a SSD and 1x140mm blue Led fan for front, 1x120mm white Led fan for rear. That’s it.

What do you think about my build? Did you like it? Share your thoughts or maybe suggest a good name for it.
