A few days ago, after we heard about the new liquid-cooled RX 6900 XT card which is believed to be the flagship GPU from AMD, several reports came that the RX 6900 XT LC will not be available for purchase by customers as it is limited to pre-built systems by a few OEMs.
AMD’s official statement as reported by Tomshardware also suggests the same,
“AMD will be making a limited number of Radeon RX 6900 XT liquid-cooled reference design graphics cards available to select system integrators…”
Guess what? The GPU is available for purchase in India on many major computer retail sites. I just looked up at some of these and found out that the GPU is currently in stock for purchase. At the time of writing these cards were in stock on three retail sites and may not be after some time. So, I will attach the screenshots and links I took today.
MDComputers.in has listed the card for INR 223,020 that is roughly around $3000 USD. Primeabgb.com too listed the card for the same price but Vedantcomputers.com listed it for a lower price of INR 213,020 that is around $2870.
I don’t know if AMD’s policy is applicable to a few regions or not but it certainly doesn’t seem to be applicable in India. The air-cooled card was expected to be priced at $1000, so the LC edition could be somewhere around $1300-$1400. In India, the prices of computer parts are generally higher than in the US due to import fees and shipping and seeing the current trend of GPU prices, it seems to be priced accordingly.
