The Best PreBuilt Gaming PC Under $2000 In 2023

If you are looking for no-compromise gaming and you have a budget of $2000, then keep reading as we have the list of best PreBuilt Gaming PCs under $2000 that will completely destroy any game at both 1080p and 1440p resolutions.

We know that Custom Gaming PCs are not for everyone and not everyone can build a PC on their own. Therefore, it’s best to grab a PreBuilt one than to damage a part or two mistakenly. A PreBuilt Gaming PC not only comes pre-assembled but comes with a warranty on all parts and has additional features that can save you some cost. However, at Xtremegaminerd, we always and will recommend learning to build a PC for yourself instead of going with a PreBuilt one.

We carefully analyze and compare all the available PreBuilt systems for a budget and with all the research done for you, you don’t need to spend several days or even hours searching for the best $2000 PreBuilt Gaming PC.

What is PreBuilt Gaming PC?

A PreBuilt Gaming PC comes with pre-assembled PC components and is ready to work out of the box. PreBuilt Gaming Systems are put together by well-known and popular brands that feature gaming performance-oriented configurations. A Desktop Gaming PC comes with 6-7 different components that are connected to each other via the motherboard. The user needs to install each component manually to get it working but a PreBuilt Gaming PC comes with everything pre-installed.

Is $2000 Good For a Gaming PC?

A PreBuilt Gaming PC for $2000 is much more than just “Good”. Most configurations available under this budget can literally max out all the games at 1440p resolutions. However, there are dozens of PreBuilts out there in the market for this price and it can make you quite confused as they offer similar specs but pricing and features are what you should look for. I recommend going with the PreBuilts having the latest-gen components to provide you with the maximum benefit in gaming and non-gaming applications.

After closely analyzing each PreBuilt for under $2000, I have listed only a handful that is worth their price. While the PreBuilts I didn’t include can technically get you the performance you are looking for, they are simply more expensive than they should be. Hence, do not go by the looks and check everything from components to bundled stuff so you can calculate the actual value of the PreBuilt you are buying.

For a PreBuilt costing $1500-$2000, we have set some standards that you should consider to know what you should get.

Processor

There should be no compromise on literally any component. For the processors, at least a 6-core processor from one of the latest generations from either Intel or AMD is a must. Getting an 8-core is highly recommended. With the cores, the processor should also feature hyperthreading and the potential for overclocking.

Motherboard

Unlike most budget PreBuilts, the motherboard for our $2000 PreBuilt system should allow overclocking, have sufficient ports and slots, and have better durability. A Micro-ATX motherboard will do ok but an ATX motherboard is highly recommended.

Memory

You should never settle for less than 16GB of RAM. Moreover, the RAM kit should have a 2x 8GB configuration in a dual channel for faster operation and at least 3200MHz of clock frequency if the RAM is DDR4.

Graphics Card

The graphics card should be one of the high-end GPUs from the latest Nvidia or AMD series. The GPU should be capable of maxing out games on both 1080p and 1440p resolutions with the capability of delivering 60+ fps in modern titles. Also, they should feature at least 6GB of fast VRAM on a bigger memory bus width for higher memory bandwidth.

Storage Drive

For storing the OS and games, a 1TB of fast SSD is the minimum to look for. It will be better if the SSD is an M.2 NVME drive but a SATA SSD will also do the job fine. PreBuilts featuring higher storage than 1TB will take preference considering other specs aren’t compromised.

Power Supply

A reliable power supply is compulsory for a high-end PreBuilt like we recommend. Most budget PreBuilts come with a standard 80+ PSU with a satisfactory quality of components but for an expensive $2000 PreBuilt, always go for a more reliable one and it should have at least 650W of wattage capacity.

Case

When you pay $2000, you shouldn’t expect anything less than a mid-tower chassis. The case should be enough spacious and should provide good support to components, should feature good airflow, have some pre-installed fans, and have a decent cable management system.

  • 650W Gold rated PSU
  • InWin mid-tower with a unique design
  • Decent B550 motherboard for overclocking
CONS:

The Skytech Shiva is a beast PreBuilt that offers one of the best configurations for less money than most PreBuilts. The PC features a 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5600X processor that is based on the Zen 3 architecture. We all know that Ryzen 5600X stayed a gaming champion for a while due to its fast single-core performance and combined with an Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070, you will be maxing out literally every game at 1440p resolution.

The GTX 3070 comes with an 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM and is sufficient for much more than 60 fps in modern intensive titles. It is also Ray Tracing capable which allows you to turn on RT in supported games for better visuals. The PC doesn’t lack behind in any of the specs including the RAM and storage. It comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200MHz which is sufficient for multitasking and gaming at 1440p. For storage, the 1TB NVME SSD should let you store some big games and files.

Powering the system is a 650W Gold Rated PSU that provides 90% power efficiency on typical loads. However, it is not clear which brand of power supply Skytech used but they do not cheap out on the PSU in their gaming PreBuilts. To host all the components, Skytech Shiva comes with a beautiful InWin mid-tower that features a PSU shroud at the top to hide the PSU and the cable clutter.

Additionally, you get a Wifi and Windows 10 Home pre-installed to start with but unfortunately, no keyboard/mouse combo that could have been a great deal.

Skytech Archangel 3.0 Gaming PC
Skytech Archangel 3.0 Gaming PC
CPU- Intel Core i5 12600KF
GPU- Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
RAM- 16GB DDR4
Storage- 1TB SSD
PROS:
  • Maxed-out graphics at 1440p
  • Fastest 6-core gaming processor
  • 650W Gold rated PSU
  • Best price to performance ratio
CONS:
  • No Keyboard/Mouse combo
  • Locked chipset motherboard

Skytech has another PreBuilt for the same price as the Shiva. The Archangel 3.0 gaming PC is literally the Skytech Shiva in its configuration except for the processor, motherboard, and case. Here the processor is replaced by the Intel Core i5 12600KF which is the fastest 6-core gaming processor right now. It offers greatly improved single and multi-core performance and has a significant impact on gaming.

Hence, the combination of Core i5 12600KF with RTX 3070 compared to the Ryzen 5600X with the RTX 3070 will yield more fps and better productivity. However, it is still not clear as to whether Skytech used an overclockable motherboard with the Z690 chipset or an H610/B660 motherboard that doesn’t allow overclocking. Most likely, the motherboard is either an H610 or a B660 chipset board which is the only CON this PreBuilt has.

Other specs like RAM, PSU, Storage, and Case are also decent where the chassis is the Thermaltake H200 TG Snow RGB that features an RGB LED strip on the front panel and a big PSU shroud at the bottom. It is spacious enough for installing a custom Air or AIO cooler and has a big tempered glass side panel that is easy to open.

Next, we have a great PreBuilt from one of the most popular gaming PC brands, Acer. The Acer Predator Orian 3000 offers various configurations for different budgets and for around $1500-$1600, you will be going with an Intel Core i7 11700F processor that is a fast and powerful 8-core CPU that will speed up your multitasking, productivity, and will offer great performance in gaming.

The CPU is locked but has a decent boost clock of up to 4.9GHz which helps the CPU in gaining good momentum in processing. The GPU installed is the RTX 3070 and for the main system, the RAM is 16GB DDR4 clocked at 3200MHz. For the storage, you get dual storage drives in 512GB Plus 1TB of storage space where the 512GB is the NVME SSD and 1TB is the hard drive. So, you can have the OS installed in the SSD and also a couple of games that you play the most.

Unlike the Skytech PreBuilts, it comes with a gaming RGB keyboard/mouse combo that saves a good amount of money. Moreover, you get a Wifi 6 pre-installed for internet connectivity, which is significantly faster than the Wifi 5. Acer is also giving this PC bundled with either Air Cooler, Headset, or a 144Hz IPS monitor. Of course, that is just optional and will increase the overall cost.

MSI Aegis RS Gaming Desktop PC

CPU- Intel Core i7 12700KF
GPU- Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
RAM- 16GB DDR4
Storage- 1TB SSD
PROS:
  • Gaming at 1440p Ultra settings
  • Monster 12-core i7 processor
  • Gaming keyboard/mouse combo
  • 240mm AIO cooler
  • Dying Light bundle
CONS:
  • Not the best GPU

While many prefer the best and most powerful GPU for the budget, some may have requirements for content creation more than gaming. The MSI Aegis RS gaming PC can do both but has a slower RTX 3060 Ti GPU than most PreBuilts under $2000. Most of the money is invested into the CPU, Keyboard/Mouse, and liquid cooling. This PreBuilt has so many advantages over a regular PreBuilt as it is packed with several features not easily found on most sub $2000 PreBuilt Gaming systems.

The first one is the Core i7 12700KF processor which is a beast 12-Core CPU with 16 threads. While many PreBuilts listed here either use a 6-core or an 8-core CPU, you are getting straight away 4-6 more cores and 20 threads in total. This allows faster rendering and processing in CPU-intensive applications and you get the job done quicker. With the RTX 3060 Ti, you can still play most games on ultra settings at 1440p resolution, however, some games might require you to lower down a setting or two to get smooth gaming performance.

Moreover, the processor is cooled with a 240mm AIO cooler that alone costs a lot and you get Wifi 6E and Windows 11 Home pre-installed. To start right away, MSI is also bundling it with an RGB gaming keyboard/mouse combo and Dying Light game for absolutely free.

iBUYPOWER Pro SlateMono 237i Gaming PC
iBUYPOWER Pro SlateMono 237i Gaming PC
CPU- Intel Core i7 12700KF
GPU- Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 Ti
RAM- 16GB DDR4
Storage- 1TB SSD
PROS:
  • 1440p Killer, 4K Starter
  • Monster 12-core i7 processor
  • Gaming keyboard/mouse combo
  • 240mm AIO cooler
CONS:
  • N/A

Finally, we have the best and fastest $2000 PreBuilt that offers the i7 12700KF processor combined with the 1440p gaming killer GPU, the Geforce RTX 3070 Ti. The i7 12700KF was already an Overkill for gaming but the RTX 3070 Ti takes gaming to another level and allows you to game even at 4K resolution. You can easily bump up whatever the graphical setting is to the max and still get way over 60 fps in every game.

The CPU is cooled with a 240mm AIO cooler and the PC uses a spacious mid-tower from iBUYPower that supports long GPUs and tall CPU air coolers. It comes with 4x 120mm RGB pre-installed fans and offers a full-length PSU shroud to cover up the cable mess and storage drives. I believe that this PreBuilt is a no-compromise build because along with the high-end specs it offers, it comes with Pre-installed Wifi, Windows 11 Home, and an RGB keyboard/mouse combo to start gaming right away when it reaches your door.

Are $2000 PreBuilt Gaming PCs Upgradable?

Every PreBuilt listed above is upgradeable. Whether you want to change your CPU or even power supply, you can do so without changing any other component. This helps you upgrade your PC gradually without having the need to change everything at once. I recommend upgrading the PC step by step in order to maintain the balance in the configuration. This will reduce bottlenecking and save you some good money in the long run.

For PreBuilts that use an overclockable 6-core processor, I recommend getting a 10-core in the next upgrade. However, if the PreBuilt comes with a locked chipset motherboard from the very first time, it is advisable to get the motherboard changed before the CPU. This will allow you to get free performance just by overclocking. However, you should also keep an eye on the CPU temperatures as overclocking can result in thermal throttling. In case your PreBuilt doesn’t come with an aftermarket CPU cooler or the cooler isn’t effective in cooling performance, get it changed to an AIO cooler.

The next good upgrade will be your storage drive. As most $2000 PreBuilts come with a single 1TB of SSD storage, you can add another 1TB or 2TB storage drive to have more space for your games and files. Finally, if you have got a 4K gaming monitor, then it is time to change your GPU to something like an RTX 3080 or a 3090 Ti. These CPUs will absolutely destroy any game at 4K resolution and offer superior ray tracing performance.

Final Words

If you see lower and inferior specs on any $2000 PreBuilt than the PreBuilts listed above, then simply ignore those builds. And if you need any help or suggestions regarding building your own gaming PC, then feel free to comment down below and we will get to you as quickly as possible.
