Nvidia reports to have increase in PUBG performance with the new Geforce Driver

Nvidia has brought a new Geforce game ready driver which is 391.01 made for optimizing these games: Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and World of Tanks’ engine upgrade. Not only that, it even claims that this new driver increases the performance in PUBG up to 7%. Although, it isn’t mentioned that they deliberately brought this new driver to increase the performance in PUBG but they tested the game with different graphics cards at different resolutions and found that the game performed better.

The game PUBG is known to be very CPU and GPU intensive and I myself have seen the effects of Nvidia’s Geforce drivers to affect the performance in games. Not every updated driver increases the performance. Sometimes, some of the games see some increase in FPS and sometimes upgrading to newer driver decreases the performance. So, it is accidental or not,  they have tested PUBG with Intel Core i7 7820X with 32GB of 2666Mhz Ram on Windows 10 and got the following table:-

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Game Ready Driver 391.01 Performance Improvements

1920×1080 2560×1440 3840×2160
GeForce GTX 1050 7%
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 5% 6%
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 5% 6%
GeForce GTX 1070 5% 5% 6%
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 4% 5% 6%
GeForce GTX 1080 3% 7% 7%
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 5% 5% 7%

From the table, PUBG is getting increase in performance up to 7% with GTX 1050 at 1080p, 7% with GTX 1080 at 1440p and 4K, 7% with GTX 1080 Ti at 4K. Other cards like GTX 1060, 1070 and 1070 Ti also saw some increase in performance but to be honest these benchmarks are very subjective. Even though one might have exactly the same RIG but the results can be different. I haven’t tested the game myself because these days I am not able to play PUBG otherwise it would have been great if I tested the game with my GTX 1080 Ti and Ryzen 1700X.

Did you get results like this? Let me know in the comments!
